Quartier Bleu

Urban Public Lighting

CATEGORIES Architainment

Quartier Bleu is the newest public recreational and commercial hub for Hasselt, Limburg. The project is a modern urban canal-side promenade development compromising of shops with best brands, multi-cuisine restaurants, and bars. The project also has high-end residential apartments and duplex homes.

Painting with Light worked with designer firm Creneau International- Hasselt, to develop and design the lighting design for the exterior (Promenade) and interior (Connector) which serves for the public transition following standard lighting norms.

Exterior (Promenade)

Lighting design for the exterior was developed for the front walk through and sit-out areas of the restaurants. The promenade hosts many multi-cuisine restaurants and bars and has become the newest hub of social dining and gathering during evenings. The project was developed and executed in collaboration with Fluvius.

Interior (Connector)

The interior lighting design was developed for the transition zone between the promenade and the basement parking. The connector has an escalator and a lift zone to move from the ground floor to the basement level. The basement level comprised of shops alongside. We developed the intention of a skylight effect in the transition zone, along with fulfilling the required lighting levels as per standards. The project was executed by Janssen.
